Hello and welcome to my site! My name is Michael Poggenburg and I have been working as a video editor and post-production artist since 2005. Most recently, I edited and co-directed the award-winning film Woke Up Alive, a documentary about peace and environmentalism in the Middle East. In addition to independent film, I have done freelance work for small production companies around the Pacific Northwest, as well as taught programs in video production and post-production for 911 Seattle Media Arts Center and the Seattle RecTech Summer Youth Program. I am currently employed by Camera One in North Seattle as an editor and post-production specialist. My real passion in working with video comes from turning ordinary footage into an extraordinary story. In my previous work, I have enjoyed the challenge of transforming low-budget, spontaneous film projects into innovative and cutting edge works of art. I revel in pushing the limits of what video and independent film can accomplish and take pleasure in working outside the established boundaries as an editor. I have also co-founded the production company Owl Cat Pictures with executive producer Mark Blacknell, and I am currently in the early stages of pre-production on my next documentary film titled Sacred Food: A Story of How We Eat. In addition to working in visual media, I have also written electronic music since I was 15 years old. In fact, it was working in audio production that inspired my leap into visual media. You can learn more about my music here. Thanks for visiting! |
